MARTIAL ARTS IN NORWOOD & HYDE PARK
FOR KIDS AND ADULTS
New Vision Academy of Jiu Jitsu teaches kids martial arts and adult martial arts in the Norwood and Hyde Park (Boston) areas since 2011. Our style focuses on a non-traditional style of martial art called American Jiu Jitsu. It is a more realistic, “street oriented” form of martial art. These self defense techniques can be performed by anyone regardless of gender, size or strength. Our self defense techniques consist of striking, throwing, pressure points, defense against weapons as well as multiple attack and ground fighting scenarios.
Our martial arts classes also emphasize on a combination of fitness and martial arts, which will help build your cardio, endurance and strength to improve your self defense techniques. Classes are offered to toddlers ages 3.5 to 6 (Little Ninjas), kids ages 6-12 (Kids Jiu Jitsu) and adults ages 13 and up (Adult Jiu Jitsu).
Our dojo is located in Norwood, MA with a weekend-only program in Hyde Park, MA.

WHAT IS JIU JITSU?
Jiu Jitsu is a comprehensive Japanese martial art focusing on a wide array of defense scenarios and techniques. What is so unique about our style is that it is comprised of many modern day descendants of unarmed combatives such as Aikido, Karate, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Instead of studying one of these styles alone, our classes teach techniques from all of them. This includes standup defenses, multiple attacks, ground fighting, striking, weapon defenses (stick, knife and gun), throwing (judo and aikido), joint locks and submissions holds. Jiu Jitsu emphasizes the ability to turn an attacker’s own force against himself or herself, which means size, strength and flexibility are not the most important factors in achieving proficiency in this art. Classes are designed for all students of all ages, sizes and strength.
